The "Tashan" totally Tashanless

Monday, April 28, 2008
I saw Tashan on Saturday evening with Reema.... We were out and were around Rahul Theatre, decided to check if we cud get tickets for Tashan.... We were (un)lucky to get the tickets for the 1830 show, this was around 1820..... I was sure that it was a typical bollywood masala movie, but the movie actually blew my mind off..... It started off on an interesting note, but that was the only good part I guess..... The main problem with the film was there was no script.... and i guess taking big stars and then trying to give each a good chunk of screen time screws the movie up big time.... at times i was forced to wonder what the heck is going on on the screen.... The songs were just forced into the movie.... most of the songs were not needed at all, I mean totally not needed and I was left praying during the movie, god please not another song right now..... The only good part was Akshay Kumar as Bacchan pandey.... He did a decent job as a wannabe be shooter who wants to get into the good books of BhaiyaJi played by Anil Kapoor... I am wondering why is an actor of Anil Kapoor's Caliber being wasted in such roles.... Kareena Kapoor looked totally starved and famished... Some one please give her some food to eat.. she would look more suitable in an ad for maybe Somalia..... She did not look even an itsy bit glamours to me, even in the two piece bikini that she sported... oh yeah the much hyped scene of Kareena in a 2 piece bikini was there after all.... Some how the scenes involving Saif and Kareena the real life lovers lacked chemistry.... Saif as the sophisticated Jimmy Cliff was a misfit... agreed that Saif can act but then he needs to be more natural and do roles like he did in Omkara, Being Cyrus..... Guess if the director and the script are bad even a good actor can't do much..... The action sequences were oh my god!!!..... I was wondering what is going on... Even Rajnikant and Matrix looked pale in comparison...... Bachhan pandey single handedly beating up like 15-20 people was too much to digest...... The fight in the climax could have been cut short.... u were forced to sit in awe at what was going on on screen..... The movie was more of a reminder of the 70s and 80s when mithun da was around.... only the name spelled Tashan, other wise there was nothing in the movie....

I wonder what the current day filmmakers think about the audiences... do they think that the audience is so dumb to accept any crap that they dish out in the name of a movie.... They are challenging the intelligence of the audience.... Can't they see that they have made a crap of a movie when they see the first print.... and is money the only factor for the actors working in such movies..... guess they are professionals, and they are just doing their job that is acting......

Honestly I was not expecting this from Yash raj productions..... Overall a totally crap movie i would say.....
